Privacy policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026. This notice describes the Atlas Compare build currently in this project; it must be reviewed again if hosting, analytics, advertising, or contact services are added.
Information used by the site
The current release has no account system, contact form, analytics script, advertising tag, or server-side database for comparison choices. The comparison tool runs in your browser and loads its published place data and map files from the site.
When you choose to share a comparison, the link contains the selected public place IDs in its URL. Anyone who receives that link can see which places it names. Do not put personal or confidential information in a comparison link.
Browser storage
The light/dark appearance choice and map palette are saved in your browser's local storage so they persist when you move between pages. The app does not use those settings to identify you. You can clear them through your browser's site-data controls; if storage is unavailable, the default appearance is used.
This release does not set cookies through its application code. A hosting provider may process ordinary request information under its own systems and policies. The production host has not yet been selected, so its specific logging practices are not stated here.
External links and future changes
Source citations open pages operated by data publishers. Those publishers control their own websites and privacy practices. Review their notices when you follow an external link.
